Current Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering will continue to look a little different in 2021 as we put the health and safety of our community first, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t fantastic ways for you to get involved and make a lasting difference in the lives of Regina children!
We’re looking for front-line Team Members to join us this year in delivering the CityKidz experience to our kids’ homes. This means bringing snacks, meals, and special treats to hopeful children, connecting with and inspiring kids in our communities, and being a present and positive role model, cheerleader, and advocate for all CityKidz children.
Mentors work with youth in small groups to work through the challenges in their lives and celebrate their achievements. This guidance and support helps youth grow into caring, resilient and mature young adults. Mentors see the incredible talent and potential in our youth – sometimes better than the youth see this in themselves – and help them bring it out.
Becoming a member of the Board of Directors is an awesome opportunity as well as an important responsibility. Each member is a committed supporter and ambassador of the mission and vision of CityKidz Regina and works hard to see its objectives completed. Board members play a vital role in determining the success of the mission through strong governance, oversight and strategic direction.
Frequently Asked Questions
In order to become a CityKidz volunteer, you must be 16 years of age or older, in agreement with our mission, vision and values, and complete the CityKidz volunteer intake process. Each volunteer role is unique and the specific requirements may vary depending on the position.
We want to make sure that CityKidz is the right fit for you! Our intake process is designed to start you in your role with confidence and excitement! All volunteers attend an orientation where they learn more about the history, mission and vision of CityKidz as well as information about each of our programs. Following orientation, volunteers are screened through an application, interview, background check, and reference check. To begin the process, fill out our volunteer application!
With a letter of reference from your Community Service Advisor, you are welcome to complete your hours with CityKidz Regina. We do ask that you be available on at least a bi-weekly basis for the full semester, which may actually give you more than required hours.
Yes! If you would like to come as a guest for a Saturday, we would be happy to pair you with a current volunteer so you can see firsthand what we are all about. We hope you will love it so much, you’ll be signing up for orientation!
