Position Title: Summer Program Recreation Coordinator – 30 hours per week

Overview:
The CityKidz Regina Summer to Remember program offers love, acceptance, and growth opportunities for children aged 5 to 15. Through a combination of activities and experiences, participants have fun and are inspired to dream of a future in which they can achieve their God-given potential.
Job Summary:
The Summer Recreational Coordinator provides hands-on contributions to the delivery of summer programs. Contributions are assisting with activity development and execution, administrative support, and direct leadership with children. They will coordinate schedules with volunteers, to ensure the ratio of 1:10 is always met. They play an important role in engaging, entertaining, and inspiring children and their families.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
1. Summer to Remember Project – 75%
- May 1 – June 15 will participate in the Saturday program – this will help to get to know the children and understand CityKidz Regina. Develop the summer program (activity preparation, space readiness, bus charters, lunches etc.) – 15%
- Lead the Summer To Remember Program – ensure all components of activities are planned and organized. Communicate with any third party organizations/agencies that will be leading any component of the summer program. – 25%
- Promote the summer activities to the children and ensure the children are getting registered into the activities they wish to be attending – 10%
- Assist with daily administration tasks (attendance, incident reports etc.) 1%
- Provide program leadership and participant supervision on buses and during programs – 20%
- Provide support to program evaluation and follow up – 5%
- Lead a team during Connect Visits and get all CityKidz Regina permission forms updated – 5%
2. Teamwork and Program Support – 25%
- Attend and participate in team and organizational meetings
- Support Community programs, as directed by the Executive Director
- Recruit Summer volunteers and participate in training orientation
- Lead volunteers in programs
- Organize and maintain any equipment and supplies needed for each activity
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Demonstrated Skills:
- Comfortable working in a Christian Faith-based organization
- Demonstrate team player with a high level of integrity
- Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
- Experience/Comfortable working with children
- Effective program administration skills
- Familiar with Microsoft Office/Google software
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to make positive connections and relationships with children
- Ability to engage and entertain children
- Willing to work some evenings and weekends
- Willing to promote the mission of CityKidz Regina
- Valid Class 5 license and access to transportation is an asset
